Things to take care off before Moving out
Two Weeks before Moving out
- Research on various moving companies, collect quotes and choose the correct company based on what suits you best.
- Separate the things that need to be packed from the those that need to stay back or thrown away.
- Make a To-Do list.
- Pack the important yet not so frequently used material.
- Get rid of anything you no longer need or want.
- Update your address (billing, credit cards, insurance, publications etc)
- Arrange to transfer any important documents needed.
Four Weeks before moving
- Inform your family and friends about the move.
- Make sure to clear all bank related issues.
- Re-Confirm all details once again with the moving company.
- Arrange to have essential materials around you for emergency.
One week before Moving out
- Switch over and set-up utilities (water, electricity, cable, internet)
- Clean out the refrigerator, defrost the freezer and empty pantry of anything you do not want to take with you.
- Make sure the payment to be made to the movers has been taken care off.
- Verify that your movers have the right addresses.
Moving Day
- Make sure the moving team have accessibility to using washroom, refreshments and snacks.
- Do not forget to tip the moving team.
